This pictures tell of a story of two celestial beings.

Artemis the Lunar Archon, fell in love with Orion, the Star Hunter. For centuries they shared a love that burned bright throughout the cosmos. It was only until later, that Orion's thirst for power tore them apart. Orion has been locked in battle with Scorpius, his mortal enemy for eons. Despite her lover's pleas for help, Artemis refused to aid Orion and disrupt the balance between the stars. Growing desperate, Orion stole the memories of their love from Artemis. He held them at ransom in exchange for her cosmic power. Betrayed and distraught, Artemis refused his offer and seeked out Scorpius. Scorpius then offered her a weapon to kill his enemy, the stinger of his tail. Knowing that killing one or the other would cause imbalance, Artemis slayed Scorpius with his own stinger. Returning to her ex-lover with the stinger of Scorpius, she also cut him to bits. With his head in her possession, Artemis kept the precious memories of their love intact, and maintained balance within the cosmos.
 
Its been so long since I've done any cleaned-line pieces haha. This one was fun to do. I've always done very monochromatic illustrations with minimal variety in the color palette. So this project was a shot at breaking that mold and trying new things. I think I might make this a print when I enhance a few things!
