Description
Demons are trans-dimensional beings that can enter the mortal sphere by using one’s mind as a doorway. Because of the need to use a person’s mind to manifest physical form, they are parasitic by nature.
When successful, they take over the host and contort their bodies to resemble a mix of the demon’s original form as well as their victim’s fears. These mortal-birthed demons are known as LESSER DEMONS.
The only other way a demon can travel to the mortal realm is via starfall(directly descending from the sky). After the events of OVERTURE, it is almost impossible for a demon to utilize this method due to the ASTRAL GRID. When a demon does break through however, they do not merely enter, but bring down the angels incapable of holding them as well. Fallen from grace, these angels become demons classified as DESCENDANT ADUMBRATIONS and serve under the original demon, known as a GREATER DEMON.
Greater demons are especially powerful because they do not need to feed off magical essence like lesser demons do. They are powered by their own immortal hearts and therefore emit immense void(radiation) in the immediate area. Prolonged exposure exceeding 15 minutes can be fatal or result in sickness of THE GREY DEATH. Greater demons are larger and more intelligent, because they possess the original form given to them by ENTROPY.
