Sand drake concept

So I’ve been thinking about it for a while now, and I have finally started working on some ideas for the beasts of burden used in SoC.

This is the sand drake, it is pretty much a flightless dragon. It is a large, omnivorous, lizard capable of breathing fire. Despite these traits, it is very docile and only aggressive when provoked. They were originally a subterranean species that lived in the extensive system of underground rivers, but after the catcalysmic  events of Overture they rose to the surface. Originally 6 feet long, the high amounts of void(radiation) has greatly increased their size and accelerated their adaption to the new desert environment. The Nightkin as resourceful as they are, began to tame the beasts and use them to replace horses which are now extinct.

A big inspiration/base for these are Armadillo girdled lizards, and I plan to make future designs a bit more creative and diverse. I just need to get comfortable drawing some more lizards~!
